Ro Ho En Japanese Friendship Garden にて開催されたガーラが、無事に終了しました。
この場所が次の大きなステージへ進むために、多くの方々が集い支えてくださった特別な一夜。
その場で飛鉋の実演をさせていただけたことを心より感謝しています。
今回は海外では初めて、自分の言葉で英語で技法の説明にも挑戦しました。
拙いながらも伝えることができて、「英会話を学び始めてよかった」と心から感じた瞬間でした😭
飛鉋の道具が古時計のゼンマイから生まれたことも、写真を通してしっかり伝えることができ、皆さんに興味を持っていただけたのも嬉しかったです。
日本からご一緒した建築家や、お琴・篳篥の奏者の皆さまのパフォーマンスも本当に素晴らしく、かけがえのない経験となりました。
アメリカに来て改めて見える日本、
日本にいる時には気づかなかったアメリカ。
視点を変えることで、新しい発見とこれからを考える大切な時間に。
そして、こちらの方々のさりげない気の利いた挨拶にも毎回感動…😭💕
もっと英語を理解して、深くコミュニケーションが取れるようになりたいと強く思いました。

The gala at Ro Ho En Japanese Friendship Garden in Phoenix, Arizona has successfully concluded.
I was truly honored to perform Tobikanna carving in front of such a wonderful audience.
This time, I challenged myself to explain the technique in English for the first time—
and it made me deeply grateful that I started learning English.
It was also meaningful to share the story of the tool, originally made from an old clock spring, with photos to help understanding.
Experiencing Japanese culture from abroad, and seeing both Japan and the U.S. from new perspectives, gave me so many insights for the future.
I’m sincerely grateful to have been part of such an important moment for the garden.
